Up in the air...

On Saturday Ammon and I had the opportunity, along with thousands and thousands of other people, to attend the air show at Hill Air Force Base. Now I will start by stating that these sort of events don't intrigue me much, it was more Brett's thing growing up. But since I love my husband and was interested in where he goes to work everyday I decided we should go. First we waited in a line of cars to even get on base for approximately 15 minutes, then once on base noticed the parking lots were overflowing and people were walking from far off places. Ammon decided he would first show me the building he works in, however the road was blocked off and we were stopped by a nice officer. I asked where the closest place to park was and as soon as he saw I was pregnant, overly pregnant at this point, he turned around and let us park right behind him in a closed off lot a block from the entrance to the air show grounds. Needless to say I was very thankful we came across the man, he saved me a two mile or so walk. While at the air show we walked around looking at a bunch of planes, and again this was my brother's thing, not mine, so I cannot tell you what they even were. Some were big, some were small. My favorite was the one from the Utah State University flight department they had on display. I of course have seen it before since that is what Brett flew and instructed in at USU, but I had to show some Aggie pride and get my picture taken with it anyway.

Ammon was really into the jets, so we walked around them for a while. He really wants to fly in one one day, but we will see if that ever happens. He refused to get in a picture with one of them and just wanted to take pictures of them. Since I like pictures with people in them, I won't post any of the jets. The last and most excting part of the day was when we got to witness the Thunderbirds. By this time I was one tired lady, we had been on our feet for almost and hour and a half and took our seats on the concrete. I felt bad because I only made it through about 15 of that specific show (we watched others while walking around) before I knew it was time we headed back to the car, which was a good thing because by the time we managed to get to the car I was having contractions I almost couldn't walk through. Here is a little clip of the Thunderbirds in action.
