A Cure for the Buxton Curse

As most of you know we started Kent on solid food about a month and a half ago. To no surprise of ours we realized that he too suffers from what my family calls the Buxton Curse, or in other words constipation. This ailment effects many members of my family on my Grandma Larsen's (Buxton is her maiden name) side, from grandparents down to cousins. Kent unfortunately is no different. From personal experience I know how painful this is and was upset that my poor little boy was experiencing similar pain. Of course my mom, who also suffers, suggested suppositories. These worked, but are not supposed to be used often. So we turned to my greatest nightmare...prunes. Success, at least once every 5 days. Enjoy the pictures of our prune faced kid.

Trick-or-Treat!

Well as everyone knows Halloween has come and gone. We had a great time celebrating. We did everything from carving pumpkins to trick-or-treating. Kent really was a trooper in putting up with us as we started what will hopefully become traditions. And now for your viewing pleasure...

A pumpkin just my size.

A pumpkin just a little too big for me.

Mom and Dad carving pumpkins.

Uncle Lance and Robin with their pumpkins.

The finished product...a dog, a face, a leaf, and Frankenstein.

Mom and Courtni as boy scouts.

It's a regular zoo around here, me as a monkey and cousin Cade as a cow.

Our first Halloween together.

Tired from two blocks of trick-or-treating.

Our little man

A few pictures for you to enjoy!

Looking handsome for church

Hanging out in my jumper

Like father, like son. Kent loves to look at the computer with his dad, he will need glasses soon if this becomes his favorite hobby.

Don't leave me alone with Dad and Uncle Lance...this is what you get.

For a Good Cause

On Monday night Cougar Country had a breast cancer fundraiser. Here is a picture of Kent and I showing support for the cause.

Guess who's 4 months...

Well our little bundle of joy is no longer little, at least compared to what he was 4 months ago. We had his 4 month appointment last week and he now weighs 14 lbs 14 oz. Boy am I glad I didn't give birth to a 4 month old. We have had a little bout with colic these last few months, but finally seem to be growing out of it. We still do not sleep through the night. We wake up about 3 times, give or take. I don't remember what a full night's sleep is like and often wake up with excruciating headaches from a lack of sleep, but it is all worth it in the end. Kent has found his hands and feet and can often be found playing with them. He also likes to pet Wiley and play with his cousin Cade. It is really cute to see the two of them interact and we are all sure it is only the beginning. And now for what you are all probably waiting for...PICTURES!!!

How can you not love this face?

Kent falls asleep in weird positions just like his dad.

Thanks for visiting Auntie Sarah.

Pat-a-cake is my favorite game to play with Grandpa.

Grandpa's mustache tickles me!

This is how I find my three boys in the morning while I am getting ready for work.

Look at how tall I am.

It got really cold in Pullman these last few weeks.

Just a side note: So as you can tell keeping up to date with blogging is not one of my best talents. Lots of people have commented on the fact that I have not updated this is a while. I will honestly try to do better, but I am not promising anything.

A Day at the Pool

At the beginning of August my cousin Rachel flew up from Vegas to spend a few days with us. It was extremely hard to find enough stuff in Pullman to entertain her and make her trip worth it, so Ammon, Rachel, and I braved a trip to Clarkston to visit their aquatic center. I think total we had seven kids and the three adults. Good thing the babies were the only ones that needed watched closely. We had a blast. Here are a few pictures from that day.

Jami, Rachel, Cade, and Courtni sit waiting for the waves to start.

After the first dip Kent fell asleep.

Cade really enjoys the water and swimming. He loved splashing wherever he could.

Kent was not so sure about the whole thing, maybe next summer we will try again.

Trip to Washington

As some of you know I took a trip back home to Pullman last week in order to attend a friend's wedding and spend some time with my Udy grandparents. It was a great trip home and if it wasn't for Ammon still being in Utah I probably would not have come back. Instead of spending a lot of time boring you with the escapades of the week, I will share my experiences with pictures and captions. Hold on tight there is a lot. I hope you enjoy!

Kent experiences petting Wiley for the first time. Hopefully the two will be best buds, although Wiley was a little jealous of Kent.

This is how my mom found us on the first morning. We slept on the couch so my mom could help if I needed it, what a good grandma she is.

Kent spent some quality time with Grandma in the kitchen sink since the baby bath was in Ogden.

Kent meeting Uncle Lance for the first time. He also met Uncle Brett for the first time but we didn't get a picture.

Grandma got out some of our old clothes that she saved. Cade and Kent tried some on for size. Looks like we have some future cougars on our hands.

Mom and Kent video chatting with Dad.

My good friends from high school; Sarah, me, Amanda, and Jess.

My friend Lauren holding Kent. Her wedding was beautiful.

Kent has been staring at his mobile on his swing for a little over a week, but when we were home we placed him on an activity mat and it was the first time he really interacted with the toys. His faces in these pictures were classic.

Aunt Rachel bought Cade a pool and invited us over for a swim. Grandma, Lance, and Robin joined us for some fun in the sun.

Unfortunately swimming was right during Kent's nap. He didn't wake up the entire time, so much for his first swim experience.

The moms and their babes. Notice Kent is still sleeping, eve after I bounced him up and down in the water.

Hanging out with Grandma in the shade.

On the morning before we went home. Kent is wearing a cute romper his Auntie Sarah gave him.

Kent was able to meet lots of people; Sarah, Amanda, Jessica, Phill, Lyndee, Lauren, Linda, Kathy, Grandma and Pa Udy, etc. I have a picture of him with all of them which would be entirely too many to post at this time. Look back in the next week and hopefully I will have them up. Thank you all for the great time while I was up there. It was great to catch up with everyone, especially my high school friends, its too bad we don't all live near Nuevo anymore.

You had a birthday shout "HURRAY"!

Since we celebrated Ammon's birthday the weekend prior, we didn't do a whole lot on his actual birthday. I made dinner, lemon pepper chicken, watermelon, and rice, and a ice cream pie. My family (via video chat) and I sang to him, we ate our dessert, and then went to bed. Pretty exciting, huh?

Ammon really did turn 24, but the pie was so frozen I only managed to get 5 candles to stay.

This is my rendition of Winger's Asphalt Pie. It is not green because I used Bryer's mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Helping mom with laundry?

So for all those out there that find time to nap while your baby naps I don't know how you do it. Whenever (well most of the time) Kent falls asleep I decide to get just one thing done around the house before I lay down for a little snooze with him. Great idea right? Well no. It seems that he has an innate ability to know when the chores are done and chooses to wake up. So much for Mom's nap! Here is a picture of him helping me fold laundry.

Happy Birthday To You...

Tomorrow is Ammon's birthday, but since he has to work all day we did some celebrating this past Friday. I planned a trip to Park City for us to visit Olympic Park and for Ammon to ride the zip line down the mountain that was the free style venue for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Ammon had never been to Park City before and I thought this was the perfect opportunity. After Olympic Park I of course had to visit the outlet malls up there but came away with nothing for me just stuff for Ammon and Kent. I have no clue how that happened but am pretty depressed about it now. I think I will head out this week in search of a new dress, to wear to my friends wedding this weekend, in order to make myself feel a little better about my empty shopping bags on Friday.

Like Father Like Son

This is how Kent fell asleep on Ammon's lap last night. It seems he might have a love for computers just like his dad and maybe Macs like his mom.
