Sibling Stories

Here are a few stories I wanted to get in writing (other than on Facebook) before I forget them:

Kent was sitting on my lap with the iPad while I was spotting Addy standing up next to the couch, at which point Addy began to fall.  As I reached for Addy, the iPad began to fall off Kent's lap.  With both the iPad and Addy falling Kent pleaded, "Save the iPad!"  I am sure he would have wanted Addy saved too.

Kent and I were playing Memory on the floor the other day and Addy crawled over and messed up the cards.  I told Kent we would just let her play with the Memory cards and we would go to the other side of the room and do his ABC puzzle.  Low and behold Addy crawled over and started taking out the letters that Kent had already put in.  Kent looks up at me and says, "Mom, I want to go to Amanda's because Addy is causing problems."  Regardless of what Kent says, he really does love his sister and gets along with her most of the time.  Now that she can crawl, she tends to irritate him a little more, but Kent is pretty mild mannered and never fights back, for which we are grateful.

Addy was thoroughly entertained by watching Kent play computer games.  This was before she came mobile and could fall of the couch.

They had so much fun sitting side by side in this double stroller.  We have since purchased one of our own and LOVE it!

I can't believe we let Kent take Addy down the slide, but she loved it.

This picture is taken at my great-aunt Claron's house.  We found the kids staring at themselves in the mirror at the bottom of the stairs.

All About Addy

Our little girl is growing up right before our eyes.  Here are a few things she has been up to...

She is such a big girl sitting up.

She smiles on demand.

She gets placed in the crib so mom can fold laundry without having it get unfolded.

She was babysat for the first time by someone other than family, although Jess is as close to family as it gets.  Kent's smirk in the background I am sure is from the fact he just got to spend the afternoon with just his parents, not his sister.

She loves to be outside.

She has boycotted anything to do with baby food in the jars.  Whatever we eat, she eats.

And she is happy about it.

She might not be the softball player I had hoped for...I guess it is time to purchase tap shoes!

Teaching Independence

It wasn't too long ago that we started realizing that Kent was capable of a lot more then we were giving him credit for, so we put him to work.

Vacuuming up his crumbs.

Stirring his own mac 'n cheese.

Using a Magic Eraser to remove his first, and hopefully last, drawing on the wall.
